Contribution to the study of Orchidaceae from Madagascar, the Comoro islands and the Mascarenes. XXXV. Description of a new Oeceoclades from Madagascar, and notes on three new genera for the Mascarenes
Oeceoclades callmanderi Bosser, new endemic species from the NE of Madagascar, is described. It differs from O. flavescens Bosser and Morat by its elongated cylindric pseudobulbs and by the shape of the lip and from O. sclerophylla (Rchb. f.) Garay and P.Taylor by the unifoliate pseudobulbs and by the larger, morphologicaly different flowers. Three genera, Holothrix Lindl., Aerangis Rchb.f. and Gastrodia R.Br., are new for the Mascarenes. The species of Holothrix is H. villosa Lindl. from South Africa; the species of Aerangis is A. punctata J.Stewart from Madagascar. A nomenclatural clarification is provided about the identity of this taxon and of Angraecum curnowianum. The species of Gastrodia is described as new: G. similis Bosser, related to G. africana Kraenzl. from the Cameroun, G. abscondita J.J.Sm. and G. verrucosa Blume from Indonesia, differing by the morphology of the lip.
