Tactics concern the duration and timing of fishing trips, and the choice of the type of gear and fishing grounds in relation to the target species. This study stresses the need for a multidisciplinary approach including historical, economic and social factors, in order to understand the behaviour of small-scale fishermen in relation to changes in the availability and abundance of resources.
