Une première partie traite de la côte nord-est de l'île de Mallicolo qui abrite la plus vaste étendue de mangroves du pays. Une seconde partie détaille les informations spatiales et temporelles intéressant le littoral pouvant être extraites d'une image SPOT. Dans une troisième partie sont passées en revue différentes applications des images SPOT dans le domaine littoral : étude de la dynamique sédimentaire, inventaire écologique, gestion des ressources halieutiques, patrimoine naturel, étude d'impact.
