@article{fdi:010094423, title = {{S}ynonymy, nomenclature and taxonomic notes in {N}ew {C}aledonian {P}arsonsia ({A}pocynaceae), with the description of four new species}, author = {{L}annuzel, {G}. and {B}ruy, {D}avid and {M}unzinger, {J}{\'e}r{\^o}me and {V}androt, {H}. and {G}atebl{\'e}, {G}.}, editor = {}, language = {{ENG}}, abstract = {{T}he genus {P}arsonsia {R}.{B}r. in {N}ew {C}aledonia is partially revised to solve different taxonomic and nomenclatural issues, and describe four new species. {A}n updated key of the genus is given for {N}ew {C}aledonia. {T}he species complex {P}arsonsia flexuosa / {P}. terminaliifolia is discussed, and a new circumscription of two species is provided, with {P}. carnea and {P}. rigida as the new accepted names in order to avoid future confusions for field botanists. {T}he species complex {P}. franchetii / {P}. brachiata is also analysed so that both names are lumped as one sclerophyllous forest species, but another name, {P}. hienghenensis, is reinstated as a distinct species, growing in calcareous forests. {T}he application of the name {P}. edulis is clarified. {T}he nomenclature and taxonomy of {P}. scabra is revised. {A} detailed morphological study revealed that {P}. effusa was in fact made up of two different taxa; a new separate species, {P}. crucifera is therefore described. {T}hree other new species are also described following new gatherings in the field and/or reexamination of older herbarium specimens: {P}. bogotensis from the {B}ogota peninsula, {P}. tiebaghiensis from the {T}iebaghi and {O}uazangou massifs, and {P}. urceolata from the {P}oum massif. {F}inally, several lectotypifications are discussed and proposed.}, keywords = {{P}arsonsia ; {N}ew {C}aledonia ; {A}pocynaceae ; {P}arsonsiinae ; {P}acific ; {NOUVELLE} {CALEDONIE} ; {PACIFIQUE}}, booktitle = {}, journal = {{P}hytotaxa}, volume = {710}, numero = {2}, pages = {131--164}, ISSN = {1179-3155}, year = {2025}, DOI = {10.11646/phytotaxa.710.2.1}, URL = {https://www.documentation.ird.fr/hor/fdi:010094423}, }
