(1) {M}ethods: {B}etween {J}anuary 2019 and {J}uly 2022, 240 isolates of enterobacteria resistant to third-generation cephalosporins and imipenem from biological samples from {F}ann {H}ospital ({D}akar) and {H}opital {P}aix ({Z}iguinchor) were selected. {T}he isolates were identified by {MALDI}-{TOF} mass spectrometry, and susceptibility tests were performed by the disk diffusion method. {A}ntibiotic-resistance genes for class {A} beta-lactamases, carbapenemases, and plasmid resistance to colistin resistance (mcr-1-8) were screened by {RT}-{PCR}. (2) {R}esults: {T}he 240 enterobacteria were composed of: {E}scherichia coli (60.83%), {K}lebsiella pneumoniae (21.67%), {E}nterobacter cloacae (13.75%), {C}itrobacter freundii (2.08%), {S}erratia marcescens (0.83%), {K}lebsiella aerogenes (0.42%), and {P}roteus mirabilis (0.42%). {C}lass {A} beta-lactamase genes were found in 229 isolates (70.41% bla({TEM}), 37.5% bla({SHV}), 83.75% bla({CTX}-{A}), and 0.42% bla({CTX}-{B})). {T}he carbapenemase genes bla({OXA}-48) and bla({NDM}) were found in 25 isolates, including 14 isolates with bla({OXA}-48), 13 isolates with bla({NDM}), and 2 isolates with both genes simultaneously. {T}he mcr-8 gene was found in one isolate of {E}. cloacae. (3) {C}onclusions: {T}he epidemiology of antibiotic-resistance genes in enterobacteria in {S}enegal shows the emergence of {CPE}s. {T}his phenomenon is worrying, and rigorous surveillance is necessary to avoid further spread.}, keywords = {enterobacteria ; carbapenemase ; colistin ; {SENEGAL}}, booktitle = {}, journal = {{P}athogens}, volume = {12}, numero = {8}, pages = {974 [11 ]}, year = {2023}, DOI = {10.3390/pathogens12080974}, URL = {https://www.documentation.ird.fr/hor/fdi:010090174}, }
