@article{fdi:010089997, title = {{C}aldilinea tarbellica sp nov., a filamentous, thermophilic, anaerobic bacterium isolated from a deep hot aquifer in the {A}quitaine {B}asin}, author = {{G}r{\'e}goire, {P}. and {B}ohli, {M}. and {C}ayol, {J}.{L}. and {J}oseph, {M}. and {G}uasco, {S}. and {D}ubourg, {K}. and {C}ambar, {J}. and {M}ichotey, {V}. and {B}onin, {P}. and {F}ardeau, {M}arie-{L}aure and {O}llivier, {B}ernard}, editor = {}, language = {{ENG}}, abstract = {{A}n anaerobic, thermophilic, filamentous (0.45 x >100 mu m) bacterium, designated {D}1-25-10-4({T}), was isolated from a deep hot aquifer in {F}rance. {C}ells were non-motile and {G}ram-negative. {G}rowth was observed at 43-65 degrees {C} (optimum 55 degrees {C}), at p{H} 6.8-7.8 (optimum p{H} 7.0) and with 0-5 g {N}a{C}l l(-1) (optimum 0 g {N}a{C}l l(-1)). {S}train {D}1-25-10-4({T}). was a chemo-organotroph and fermented ribose, maltose, glucose, galactose, arabinose, fructose, mannose, sucrose, raffinose, xylose, glycerol, fumarate, peptone, starch and xylan. {Y}east extract was required for growth. {S}ulfate, thiosulfate, sulfite, elemental sulfur, nitrate, nitrite and fumarate were not used as terminal electron acceptors. {T}he {G}+{C} content of the {DNA} was 61.9 mol%. {T}he major cellular fatty acids of strain {D}1-25-10-4({T}) were {C}-17:0, {C}-18:0, {C}-16:0 and iso-{C}-17:0. {T}he closest phylogenetic relative of strain {D}1-25-10-4({T}) was {C}aldilinea aerophila {STL}-6-01({T}) (97.9 % 16{S} r{RNA} gene sequence similarity). {DNA}-{DNA} relatedness between strain {D}1-25-10-4({T}) and {C}aldilinea aerophila {DSM} 14535({T}) was 8.7 +/- 1 %. {O}n the basis of phylogenetic, genotypic and phenotypic characteristics, strain {D}1-25-10-4({T}) represents a novel species within the genus {C}aldilinea, class {C}aldilineae, phylum {C}hloroflexi, for which the name {C}aldilinea tarbellica sp. nov. is proposed. {T}he type strain is {D}1-25-10-4({T}) (={DSM} 22659({T}) ={JCM} 16120({T})).}, keywords = {}, booktitle = {}, journal = {{I}nternational {J}ournal of {S}ystematic and {E}volutionary {M}icrobiology}, volume = {61}, numero = {{P}art 6}, pages = {1436--1441}, ISSN = {1466-5026}, year = {2011}, DOI = {10.1099/ijs.0.025676-0}, URL = {https://www.documentation.ird.fr/hor/fdi:010089997}, }
