@inproceedings{fdi:010089465, title = {{C}omparative analysis of pelagic compartment organization by bathymetric strata in the {C}anary {C}urrent {L}arge {M}arine {E}cosystem [r{\'e}sum{\'e}]}, author = {{M}ouget, {A}. and {B}rehmer, {P}atrice and {J}eyid, {M}.{A}. and {S}arr{\'e}, {A}. and {E}l-{A}youbi, {S}. and {D}iogoul, {N}. and {S}idibeh, {M}. and {P}errot, {Y}annick}, editor = {}, language = {{ENG}}, abstract = {{T}he {C}anary {C}urrent {L}arge {M}arine {E}cosystem ({CCLME}) is located along the {N}orth {W}est {A}frican coast from {M}orocco to {G}uinea {B}issau. {I}n this work, 14 {N}ansen fisheries acoustics surveys have been led from the southern border of {S}enegal (12.15°{N}) to the {C}ape {B}lanc (20.77°{N}) during the hot wet season, i.e., outside the seasonal upwelling period, from 1995 to 2015. {T}he aim of this study was to scrutinize the water column organization in a bathymetric gradient starting from the coast to the offshore area, discretised in three areas: inshore (< 150m), transition (150-500m) and off shore (> 500m). {H}ere, we worked on acoustic sound scattering layers ({SSL}) and on the whole water column through echointegrated data ({EI}). {SSL} and {EI} descriptors highlighted sig-nificant difference between the three depth strata. {S}tudy of the {D}iel {V}ertical {M}igration ({DVM}) highlighted that volume backscattering coefficient (proxy of pelagic abundance) vertical profile from transition area has a pattern globally similar to offshore one while inshore presented an inversed pattern. {A}nalyse of annual change using {EI} descriptors reveal one common trait: the number of {SSL}s significantly increase whatever the depth strata considered. {T}his study high-lights differences and similarity in water column organization between depth strata.}, keywords = {{ATLANTIQUE} ; {CANARIES} {COURANT} {MARIN} ; {AFRIQUE} {NORD} {OUEST}}, volume = {4}, numero = {54}, pages = {36--37}, booktitle = {{W}orking group of fisheries acoustics, science and technology ({WGFAST})}, year = {2022}, ISSN = {2618-1371}, URL = {https://www.documentation.ird.fr/hor/fdi:010089465}, }
