@article{fdi:010088864, title = {{P}olarimetric instrument global navigation satellite system - reflectometry airborne data [{D}ata paper]}, author = {{D}assas, {K}. and {F}anise, {P}ascal and {L}e {P}age, {M}ichel and {A}yari, {E}. and {B}aillion, {P}. and {S}ige, {M}. and {B}oone, {A}. and {Z}ribi, {M}.}, editor = {}, language = {{ENG}}, abstract = {{I}n this paper, three datasets are described. {T}he first dataset is a complete set of {GNSS}-{R} ({GNSS}-{R}: {G}lobal {N}avigation {S}atellite {S}ystem - {R}eflectometry) airborne data. {T}his dataset has been generated with the data acquired with the {GLO}bal {N}avigation {S}atellite {S}ystem {R}eflectometry {I}nstrument ({GLORI}) developed at {C}entre d'{E}tudes {S}patiales de la {B}iosphere ({CESBIO}), during the {L}and surface {I}nteractions with the {A}tmosphere over the {I}berian {S}emiarid {E}nvironment ({LIAISE}) campaign in northeastern {S}pain during the summer of 2021. {I}t is the first time to our knowledge that a complete dataset of {GNSS}-{R} observables (reflectivity, incoherent component relative to the total scattering signal to noise ratio ({SNR}) for copolarized (right-right) and cross-polarized (right-left) mea-surements has been made available. {T}he two other datasets are ground truth sets of measurements which have been acquired simultaneously with the flights. {T}he insitu measurements dataset consists in soil measurements (surface soil moisture, surface roughness, {L}eaf {A}rea {I}ndex ({LAI})) over 24 reference fields). {T}he land use dataset provides a land use map (along with 385 ground truth plots) over the studied site for {GLORI} data evaluation. {T}he combined datasets are particularly relevant for soil moisture and vegetation retrievals from {GNSS}-{R} observables, as well as studies for calibration and validation of bistatic empirical or physical models simulating coherent or incoherent components on agriculture sites, in the context of the preparation of future {GNSS}-{R} space missions, such as {H}ydro{GNSS}, a {E}uropean {S}pace {A}gency mission, launch foreseen in 2024. {T}he entire database is archived in the {AERIS} {LIAISE} database. {O}ne {DOI} is available for each of the 3 datasets (airborne {GLORI} dataset, in situ measurements dataset and land use dataset).(c) 2023 {T}he {A}uthor(s). {P}ublished by {E}lsevier {I}nc. {T}his is an open access article under the {CC} {BY}-{NC}-{ND} license ( http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/ )}, keywords = {{L}1-band ; {I}ncoherent component ; {S}oil moisture ; {V}egetation ; {L}and use ; {LIAISE}}, booktitle = {}, journal = {{D}ata in {B}rief}, volume = {52}, numero = {}, pages = {109850 [17 p.]}, ISSN = {2352-3409}, year = {2024}, DOI = {10.1016/j.dib.2023.109850}, URL = {https://www.documentation.ird.fr/hor/fdi:010088864}, }
