@article{fdi:010088856, title = {{N}ew constraints on the {L}ate {M}iocene-{P}liocene deformational and depositional evolution of the {E}astern {C}ordillera and {S}ub-{A}ndean {Z}one in {S}outhern {P}eru}, author = {{M}oizinho, {G}. {R}. and {R}oddaz, {M}. and {B}richau, {S}t{\'e}phanie and {L}outerbach, {M}. and {D}antas, {E}. {L}. and {S}antos, {R}. {V}. and {B}ayon, {G}. and {B}ailleul, {J}. and {V}ink, {J}. and {H}oorn, {C}.}, editor = {}, language = {{ENG}}, abstract = {{T}he deformation history of the {E}astern {C}ordillera ({EC}) and {S}ub-{A}ndean {Z}one ({SAZ}) of southern {P}eru is critical for understanding the roles that tectonics and climate played in the erosional exhumation of bedrock and the associated sediment flux delivered to the {A}mazon drainage basin. {I}n this study, we report new field and subsurface data, apatite fission track ({AFT}) and ({U}-{T}h)/{H}e thermochronological ages, {U}-{P}b ages on detrital zircon grains, {S}r-{N}d isotopic compositions of fine sediments, which combined with previously published data, provide new constraints on the {N}eogene deformation and deposition history across the southern {P}eruvian {EC} and {SAZ} between 12 degrees and 14 degrees {S}. {L}ate {M}iocene-{P}liocene deformation is recorded by {AFT} and {AH}e ages in both the {EC} and {SAZ} and by growth strata geometry in the {SAZ}. {T}his period is characterized by the development of piggy-back synclines and duplexes in the {SAZ}, overthrusting of the {EC}, and input of recycled sedimentary rocks of the {SAZ} and first cycle sediments from {T}riassic {P}lutonic rocks from the {EC} to the late {M}iocene-{P}leistocene piggy-back syncline sediments. {W}e report a transition from low-energy sand-dominated to high-energy conglomeratedominated deposits in the {P}lio-{P}leistocene marking an increase in sedimentation rates, indicating that the thrust wedge has continued to propagate. {O}ur data agrees with that of previously published studies and indicate that the {L}ate {M}iocene-{P}liocene was a period of tectonic uplift and deformation in both the {EC} and {SAZ}.}, keywords = {{A}ndes ; {M}iocene-{P}liocene ; {U}plift ; {T}hermochronology ; {C}hronostratigraphy ; {P}rovenance ; {PEROU} ; {ANDES}}, booktitle = {}, journal = {{J}ournal of {S}outh {A}merican {E}arth {S}ciences}, volume = {133}, numero = {}, pages = {104700 [24 p.]}, ISSN = {0895-9811}, year = {2024}, DOI = {10.1016/j.jsames.2023.104700}, URL = {https://www.documentation.ird.fr/hor/fdi:010088856}, }
