@article{fdi:010088580, title = {{E}ffect of some biopesticides based on essential oil and plant extracts on postharvest mango {S}tem-end rot disease caused by {L}asiodiplodia theobromae}, author = {{Y}eo, {Y}. {S}. and {D}embele, {D}. {D}. and {C}amara, {B}. and {O}uattara, {S}. and {R}ey, {J}. {Y}. and {F}ernandez, {D}iana and {K}one, {D}.}, editor = {}, language = {{ENG}}, abstract = {{L}asiodiplodia species causing mango {S}tem-end rot disease ({SER}) are mainly controlled using synthetic products, which can harm humans and environmental health. {T}herefore, developing an eco-friendly control method, such as using plant extract products, is imperative. {I}n this study, we evaluated the inhibitory effect of 3 biopesticides based on essential oils ({ASTOUN} 50 {EC}, {FERCA} 50 {EC}, and {NECO} 50 {EC}) at 300, 500, 700, 1000 ppm and {M}oringa oleifera leaves extracts ({M}ethanolic and aqueous) at 5, 10, 15 and 20 g/250 ml on mycelial growth of {L}asiodiplodia theobromae in vitro. {S}ubsequently, 135 fruits (cv. {K}ent) per treatment were inoculated (1 x 105 spores/ml) and treated with each biopesticide (700, 1000 and 2000 ppm) and {M}. oleifera leaves extracts (15 and 20 g/250 ml) in vivo to evaluate their efficacy on mango {SER} development. {T}he results showed that the biopesticides {ASTOUN} ({C}ymbopogon citratus) and {NECO} ({O}ccimmun gratissimun) completely inhibited the mycelial growth of {L}. theobromae at 700 and 1000 ppm. {S}imilarly, {M}. oleifera methanolic extract has the highest inhibitory rate (65.45 %) compared to aqueous extract (42.44%). {M}oreover, 1000 and 2000 ppm of biofungicides and 15 and 20 g/250 ml of {M}. oleifera methanolic extract significantly reduced mango {SER} development compared to the control. {T}his study provides evidence that these plant extracts are effective alternatives to mango {SER} management that are consistent with sustainable agriculture principles, promote ecological balance, and reduce the environmental impact of conventional agriculture.}, keywords = {{B}iocontrol ; {L}asiodiplodia spp ; {M}ango ; {E}nvironment ; {H}uman ; {H}ealth}, booktitle = {}, journal = {{J}ournal of {A}griculture and {F}ood {R}esearch}, volume = {14}, numero = {}, pages = {100798 [7 p.]}, ISSN = {2666-1543}, year = {2023}, DOI = {10.1016/j.jafr.2023.100798}, URL = {https://www.documentation.ird.fr/hor/fdi:010088580}, }
