@article{fdi:010086689, title = {{F}lora of {C}ameroon - {A}nnonaceae {V}ol 45}, author = {{C}ouvreur, {T}homas and {D}agallier, {L}. {P}. {M}. {J}. and {C}rozier, {F}ran{\c{c}}oise and {G}hogue, {J}. {P}. and {H}oekstra, {P}. {H}. and {K}amdem, {N}. {G}. and {J}ohnson, {D}. {M}. and {M}urray, {N}. {A}. and {S}onk{\'e}, {B}.}, editor = {}, language = {{ENG}}, abstract = {{A}nnonaceae is a major pantropical family with 113 genera and about 2550 species. {C}ameroon is one of the most biodiverse countries in {A}frica but its flora remains incompletely known. {I}n this volume of the {F}lora of {C}ameroon, we describe 166 native taxa representing 163 species in 28 native genera within the family {A}nnonaceae. {A} total of 22 species (about 13%) are endemic to the country. {W}e provide keys to all native genera, species, and infraspecific taxa. {F}or each species a detailed morphological description and a map of its distribution in {C}ameroon are provided. {D}istribution maps and diversity analyses are based on a taxonomically verified database of 2073 collections. {A}cross {A}frica, {C}ameroon is a center of diversity for {A}nnonaceae harboring one of the highest numbers of species and genera. {F}or example, {C}ameroon harbors the highest number of {A}frican species for the only pantropical genus of {A}nnonaceae, {X}ylopia. {A}nnonaceae are found across all 10 administrative regions of {C}ameroon but diversity is concentrated within the tropi-cal rain forest areas situated in the south and {S}outh-{W}est. {T}he areas around {B}ipindi and {M}ount {C}ameroon show the highest levels of diversity, but this is correlated with collection effort. {L}ine drawings and/or pho-tographs accompany most species. {O}ne species new to science {U}variopsis etugeana {D}agallier & {C}ouvreur sp. nov. is described. {W}e also undertake a number of nomenclatural changes such as lectotypifications, six new synonymies and two new combinations ({U}varia anisotricha ({L}e {T}homas) {C}ouvreur, comb. nov.; {U}variodendron fuscum var. giganteum ({E}ngl.) {D}agallier & {C}ouvreur, comb. nov.).}, keywords = {{A}frica ; botanical identification ; conservation ; diversity ; lectotypification ; new species ; taxonomy ; vascular plants ; {CAMEROUN}}, booktitle = {}, journal = {{P}hytokeys}, numero = {207}, pages = {1--532}, ISSN = {1314-2011}, year = {2022}, DOI = {10.3897/phytokeys.207.61432}, URL = {https://www.documentation.ird.fr/hor/fdi:010086689}, }
