  abstract = {{I}n this study, the phylogenetic relationships of the seven genera of palms of the {A}ustralian subtribe {A}rchontophoenicinae : are investigated. {T}hree main clades appear, corresponding to distinct geographical areas : {A}ustralia ({A}rchontophoenix). {T}asman {S}ea to {N}ew {Z}ealand ({H}edyscepe and {R}hopalostryis) and {N}ew {C}aledonia (four genera). {T}he {N}ew {C}aledonian clade exhibits the greatest morphological diversity and this group is in need of a reassessment at the generic level.},
