  abstract = {{H}ere we report on new data on the occurrence and distribution of rare deep-sea fishes ({T}eleostei) collected from off north-eastern {B}razil, including seamounts and oceanic islands of the {F}ernando de {N}oronha {R}idge ({R}ocas {A}toll and {F}ernando de {N}oronha {A}rchipelago). {C}ollections were made by the {F}rench {RV} {A}ntea during the {ABRACOS} ({A}coustics along the {BRA}zilian {CO}a{S}t) expeditions between 29 {S}eptember and 21 {O}ctober 2015, and 9 {A}pril and 10 {M}ay 2017. {O}ccurrences of {P}hotostylus pycnopterus ({A}lepocephalidae), {G}igantura chuni ({G}iganturidae), {A}hliesaurus berryi ({N}otosudidae), {B}enthalbella infans, {R}osenblattichthys hubbsi, {S}copelarchoides danae ({S}copelarchidae), {S}copelengys tristis ({N}eoscopelidae), {Z}u cristatus ({T}rachipteridae), {S}tylephorus chordatus ({S}tylephoridae) and {P}seudoscopelus cordilluminatus ({C}hiasmodontidae) are reported for the first time or confirmed in the {B}razilian {E}xclusive {E}conomic {Z}one. {P}hotostylus pycnopterus and {G}. chuni are also recorded for the first time in the western {S}outh {A}tlantic, whereas records of {P}. cordilluminatus are the first in the western {A}tlantic. {O}ther records of rare species of those families are also reported and discussed.},
