@article{fdi:010084249, title = {{R}esistance mechanisms and genetic relatedness among carbapenem-resistant {P}seudomonas aeruginosa isolates from three major hospitals in {H}anoi, {V}ietnam (2011-15)}, author = {{T}ran, {H}. {A}. and {V}u, {T}. {N}. {B}. and {T}rinh, {S}. {T}. and {T}ran, {D}. {L}. and {P}ham, {H}. and {N}go, {T}. {H}. {H}. and {N}guyen, {M}. {T}. and {T}ran, {N}. {D}. and {P}ham, {D}. {T}. and {D}ang, {D}. {A}. and {S}hibayama, {K}. and {S}uzuki, {M}. and {Y}oshida, {L}. {M}. and {T}rinh, {H}. {S}. and {L}e, {V}. {T}. and {V}u, {P}. {T}. and {L}uu, {T}. {V}. {N}. and {B}anuls, {A}nne-{L}aure and {T}rinh, {K}. {L}. and {T}ran, {V}. {A}. and {T}ran, {H}. {H}. and {V}an {D}oorn, {H}. {R}.}, editor = {}, language = {{ENG}}, abstract = {{B}ackground: {MDR} bacteria including carbapenem-resistant {P}seudomonas aeruginosa are recognized as an important cause of hospital-acquired infections worldwide. {T}his investigation seeks to determine the molecular characterization and antibiotic resistance genes associated with carbapenem-resistant {P}. aeruginosa. {M}ethods: {W}e conducted {WGS} and phylogenetic analysis of 72 carbapenem-resistant {P}. aeruginosa isolated from hospital-acquired infection patients from {A}ugust 2011 to {M}arch 2015 in three major hospitals in {H}anoi, {V}ietnam. {R}esults: {W}e identified three variants of {IMP} gene, among which bla{IMP}- 15 was the most frequent (n = 34) in comparison to bla({IMP}-26) (n" 2) and bla({IMP}-51) (n = 12). {W}e observed two isolates with imipenem {MIC}.128 mg/{L} that co-harboured bla{IMP}- 15 and bla({DIM}-1) genes and seven isolates (imipenem {MIC}. 128 mg/{L}) with a bla({KPC}-1) gene from the same hospital. {MLST} data shows that these 72 isolates belong to 18 {ST}s and phylogenetic tree analysis has divided these isolates into nine groups. {C}onclusions: {O}ur results provide evidence that not only bla({IMP}-26) but other {IMP} variants such as bla({IMP}-15) and bla({IMP}-51) genes and several {ST}s ({ST}235, {ST}244, {ST}277, {ST}310, {ST}773 and {ST}3151) have been disseminating in healthcare settings in {V}ietnam. {I}n addition, we report the emergence of two isolates belonging to {ST}1240 and {ST}3340 that harboured two important carbapenemase genes (bla({IMP}-15) and bla({DIM}-1)) and seven isolates belonging to {ST}3151 of {P}. aeruginosa that carried the bla({KPC}-1) gene in {V}ietnam, which could potentially cause serious restricted availability of treatment options in healthcare settings.}, keywords = {{VIET} {NAM} ; {HANOI}}, booktitle = {}, journal = {{JAC} - {A}ntimicrobial {R}esistance}, volume = {3}, numero = {3}, pages = {dlab103 [9 p.]}, year = {2021}, DOI = {10.1093/jacamr/dlab103}, URL = {https://www.documentation.ird.fr/hor/fdi:010084249}, }
