@article{fdi:010083939, title = {{U}nderstanding the effects of environmental heterogeneity on the morphofunctional structure of the phytoplankton community during the hydrological year in an {A}mazon floodplain lake, {B}razil}, author = {de {S}ouza, {D}. {A}. and {K}raus, {C}. {N}. and {B}urliga, {A}. {L}. and de {M}elo, {S}. and {C}ouceiro, {S}. and {D}ias-{S}ilva, {K}. and {S}imoes, {N}. {R}. and {B}raga, {T}. and {B}onnet, {M}arie-{P}aule and {M}arques, {D}. {D}.}, editor = {}, language = {{ENG}}, abstract = {{T}he {A}mazon floodplains are complex systems influenced by the annual hydrological regime with an effect on the structuring of physical, chemical and biological processes. {T}hus, we evaluated the relationship of environmental factors with the composition and variation of functional groups based on morphology ({MBFG}) during the hydrological year in an {A}mazonian floodplain lake, with monthly sampling (2013 to 2014). {W}e used analysis of variance ({ANOVA}) and {K}ruskal-{W}allis to show differences in physicochemical variables between hydroperiods. {W}e performed permutation analysis of variance ({PERMANOVA}) to assess the dissimilarity of morphofunctional groups between hydroperiods and also of environmental data between the months of the study and {RDA} redundancy analysis to assess the relationship between {MBFG}s and environmental data. {I}t was registered 101 taxa distributed in eight taxonomic categories and was grouped into 5 {MBFG}s ({III}, {IV}, {V}, {VI} and {VII}), with {C}hlorophyceae (31 taxa) and {C}yanobacteria (27 taxas) with the higher number of taxa. {F}urthermore, there was a dominance of {C}yanobacteria in the total biovolume, which form blooms ({MBFG}s {III} and {VII}) during the periods of falling and low water in lake, influenced mainly by the reduction in the availability of light and an increase in temperature. {I}n another scenario, the dominance of {MBFG}s {V} and {VI} occurred during periods of rising and high water with association with carbon compounds, rainfall, {SRP} and {NO}2. {T}hus, our results demonstrate that the availability of light, the concentration of nutrients and temperature were the most important variables for the morphofunctional structuring of phytoplankton in aquatic system.}, keywords = {{B}iovolume ; {E}nvironmental factors ; {A}quatic system ; {BRESIL} ; {AMAZONE} {BASSIN} ; {ZONE} {TROPICALE} ; {ZONE} {HUMIDE} ; {GRANDE} {DO} {CURUAI} {LAC}}, booktitle = {}, journal = {{L}imnology}, volume = {[{E}arly access]}, numero = {}, pages = {[12 p.]}, ISSN = {1439-8621}, year = {2022}, DOI = {10.1007/s10201-021-00685-9}, URL = {https://www.documentation.ird.fr/hor/fdi:010083939}, }
