  abstract = {{L}ength-weight relationships ({LWR}s) were estimated for 19 fish species sampled from two artificial reservoirs ({M}anantali and {S}elingue) in {M}ali: {B}rycinus leuciscus, {B}. macrolepidotus, {B}. nurse, {C}hrysichthys auratus, {C}. nigrodigitatus, {C}optodon zillii, {D}istichodus brevipinnis, {D}. rostratus, {H}emichromis fasciatus, {H}ydrocynus forskahlii, {L}abeo coubie, {L}. senegalensis, {L}ates niloticus, {M}ormyrus rume, {S}arotherodon galilaeus, {S}chilbe intermedius, {S}. mystus, {S}ynodontis schall, {S}. sorex. {T}he fish were collected between {J}une 2002 and {O}ctober 2003 during three experimental fishing campaigns using gillnets deployed overnight. {A}ll fish were measured (total length) to the nearest mm and weighed to the nearest g (total weight). {C}oefficients of determination of the {LWR}s (r²) were mostly high (> 0.9). {T}he values of the allometry coefficient b ranged from 2.651 ({C}hrysichthys auratus) to 3.270 ({B}rycinus leuciscus). {T}his study provides new information about {LWR}s of two fish species, which have been published but are not yet available in {F}ishbase ({D}istichodus brevipinnis and {M}ormyrus rume)},
