@article{fdi:010080460, title = {{R}esistance and susceptibility to {X}anthomonas phaseoli pv. manihotis in cassava : a transcriptomic comparison (or two sides of the same coin)}, author = {{R}amirez, {E}. and {D}ereeper, {A}lexis and {B}ernal, {A}. and {S}zurek, {B}oris and {L}opez, {C}.}, editor = {}, language = {{ENG}}, abstract = {{C}assava bacterial blight caused by {X}anthomonas phaseoli p.v manihotis ({X}pm) is a common disease of cassava ({M}anihot esculenta). {T}he molecular mechanisms underlying susceptible and resistant response and host defense mechanisms are currently unknown. {I}n this study, we performed large-scale m{RNA} expression profiling using an {RNA}seq approach to identify {C}assava responses in {MBRA}685 variety inoculated with {X}pm618 (resistant response) and {X}pm318 (susceptible response) strains. {B}ioinformatic analysis revealed significantly differentially expressed genes ({DEG}s) by {X}pm681 in {MBRA}685 with higher fold change values. {U}nique prevalent {GO} cate-gories for {X}pm681 response included "protein kinase activity" and "phosphorylation"; "amino acid biosynthetic process" for {X}pm318 response and "regulation of transcription" and "transcription factor activity" in both responses. {T}here were particular differences between the cultivars in the intensity of expression of genes with putative roles in transcriptional activity, receptor and signaling processes, secondary metabolism and photosynthesis. {T}he differences between two interactions can be explained quantitatively, the resistant response was weaker than the susceptible response. {Q}uantitative real-time {PCR} experiments confirmed the reliability of our {RNA}seq data.}, keywords = {{C}assava bacterial blight ; {RNA}seq ; {R}esistance responses ; {S}usceptibility responses}, booktitle = {}, journal = {{P}hysiological and {M}olecular {P}lant {P}athology}, volume = {112}, numero = {}, pages = {101535 [11 p.]}, ISSN = {0885-5765}, year = {2020}, DOI = {10.1016/j.pmpp.2020.101535}, URL = {https://www.documentation.ird.fr/hor/fdi:010080460}, }
