We here synthesise published records in an updated distribution chart. The western Palaearctic region is divided into 5 areas and 75 geographical units, the latter mainly considered on a country basis or on a geographical basis (e.g. islands). The total number of species accounts for 145. The status of each species for a defined geographic unit is given according to five categories: 'Present native', 'Present introduced', 'Uncertain for presence or absence', 'Absent extinct' and 'Absent never observed'. Relevant references are given per country in the annex. %$ 052CULARB02 ; 080ZOOGEN01
