  abstract = {{T}o deal with the growing complexity of water resources systems in {G}uadeloupe, particularly in relation to irrigation, and the hight space-time variability of rainfall, {ORSTOM} has developed a computer program to provide decision-making support in water resources management. {O}ne of the original features of the proposed software is the possibility of constructing water systems interactively to easily assess the results of future development alternatives. {B}ased on a comparison of needs and resources, this tool can be used to simulate the hydrological behaviour of the water system and provides an overall analysis of the results. {D}ue to the choice of an object-oriented software construction, all extensions which are necessary to an effective water resources management can be considered.},
