@article{fdi:010077815, title = {{S}oil properties shape species diversity and community composition of native arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in {R}etama raetam roots growing on arid ecosystems of {T}unisia}, author = {{A}bdedaiem, {R}. and {R}ejili, {M}. and {M}ahdhi, {M}. and {L}ajudie, {P}hilippe de and {M}ars, {M}.}, editor = {}, language = {{ENG}}, abstract = {{T}he aim of this study was to identify the major environmental factors affecting the {A}rbuscular {M}ycorrhizal {F}ungi ({AMF}) diversity and community composition in the roots of {R}etama raetam growing on arid ecosystems of {T}unisia {AM} {F}ungi were assessed by cloning and sequencing of the {AMF} {SSU} r{RNA} gene and therefore checked against {NCBI} {G}en{B}ank and {M}aarj{AA}4 database. {T}hirteen operational taxonomic units ({OTU}s) were identified in {R}. raetam roots and {AMF} community was dominated by {G}lomeraceae. {O}f the totality of {OTU}s, ten matched previously known virtual taxa ({VTX}) and 3 {OTU}s were treated as novel {VT} and grouped into 3 putative new {AMF} taxa (p{NTX}). {C}orrelation analysis reported that high available phosphorus content and high electrical conductivity in the soil decrease {AMF} richness and diversity. {I}nterestingly, {P}rincipal {C}omponent {A}nalysis ({PCA}) and {M}onte {C}arlo permutation tests on {C}anonical {C}orrespondence {A}nalysis ({CCA}) indicated that soil physic-chemical properties such as soil total nitrogen ({TN}), soil-available {P}, {EC}, and soil texture affected the {AMF} community composition. {N}o significant relation was found between {AMF} distribution and soil organic carbon ({OC}) and soil p{H}. {O}ur findings provide insights into the nature of {AMF} communities colonizing {R}. raetam roots and help to link fungal distribution to specific soil properties, which could be exploited in the identification of a wider variety of fungal strains as potential inoculants for rehabilitation and restoration program.}, keywords = {{A}rbuscular mycorrhizal fungi ; {D}iversity ; {S}oil properties distribution ; {R}etama raetam ; {A}rid areas ; {TUNISIE} ; {ZONE} {ARIDE}}, booktitle = {}, journal = {{I}nternational {J}ournal of {A}griculture and {B}iology}, volume = {23}, numero = {2}, pages = {438--446}, ISSN = {1560-8530}, year = {2020}, DOI = {10.17957/ijab/15.1307}, URL = {https://www.documentation.ird.fr/hor/fdi:010077815}, }
