@article{fdi:010077398, title = {{N}eogene palynostratigraphic zonation of the {M}aranon {B}asin, {W}estern {A}mazonia, {P}eru}, author = {{P}arra, {F}. {J}. and {N}avarrete, {R}. {E}. and di {P}asquo, {M}. {M}. and {R}oddaz, {M}artin and {C}alderon, {Y}. and {B}aby, {P}atrice}, editor = {}, language = {{ENG}}, abstract = {{T}he palynology (150 species of pollen grains, 43 species of spores, eight species of dinoflagellate cysts, five genera of algae, two genera of fungal spores, foraminiferal linings, and copepod eggs) of the {N}eogene succession in the {M}aranon {B}asin, north {P}eru, was thoroughly investigated for the first time from six industrial wells ({A}rabela-1{X}, {M}aynas-1, {T}ucunare-1{X}, {T}igrillo-30{X}, {N}ahuapa-24{X}, and {L}a {F}rontera-1). {S}ix palynozones spanning the {E}arly {M}iocene to the {E}arly {P}liocene were defined. {T}he zones in stratigraphically ascending order are as follows: the {M}ar-{A} {C}orsinipollenites oculusnoctis {Z}one ({A}quitanian to early {B}urdigalian: 23.03-17.71 {M}a), delimited by the appearance of {A}caciapollenites myriosporites, {R}etitricolporites wijmstrae and/or {C}orsinipollenites oculusnoctis and/or the disappearance of {C}icatricosisporites dorogensis at the base; the {M}ar-{B} {M}alvacipolloides ({E}chitricolporites) maristellae {Z}one ({B}urdigalian: 17.71-16.1 {M}a), from {M}alvacipolloides maristellae at the base to the disappearance of {R}etitricolporites wijmstrae at the top; the {M}ar-{C} {M}auritiidites crassibaculatus {Z}one (latest {B}urdigalian to {L}ate {L}anghian: 16.1-14.2/13.9 {M}a), from the appearance of {G}rimsdalea magnaclavata at the base to the disappearance of {R}etitriporites dubiosus and/or the appearance of {C}rassoretitriletes vanraadshooveni and/or {P}silastephanoporites tesseroporus; the {M}ar-{D} {C}rassoretitriletes vanraadshooveni {Z}one ({L}ate {S}erravallian: 14.2-11.62 {M}a), from the appearance of {C}rassoretitriletes vanraadshooveni and/or {P}silastephanoporites tesseroporus to the disappearances of {M}auritiidites crassibaculatus, {B}ombacacidites nacimientoensis, and {C}yathidites congoensis; and the {M}ar-{E} {P}silastephanoporites tesseroporus {Z}one ({E}arly {T}ortonian to {L}ate {M}essinian: 11.62-5.48 {M}a) from the disappearance of {C}orsinipollenites oculusnoctis and/or {C}yathidites congoensis to the disappearance of {P}silastephanoporites tesseroporus and/or {S}iltaria santaisabelensis. {T}hese zones were corroborated by means of events ordination demonstrated using graphic correlation. {T}he {M}ar-{F} {C}tenolophonidites suigeneris {Z}one (latest {M}essinian to {Z}anclean) is described only in the {F}rontera-1 well from the disappearance of {P}silastephanoporites tesseroporus to the last record of {C}tenolophonidites suigeneris and/or {S}iltaria hammenii. {T}his study suggests that {P}liocene sedimentation is also recorded in the {W}estern {A}mazonia of {P}eru, and provides new palynological information compared with the {M}io-{P}liocene {S}olimoes, {A}cre, and eastern {A}mazonas basins.}, keywords = {{S}outh {A}merica ; neotropical palynology ; palynological zonation ; {N}eogene ; {W}estern {A}mazonia ; {M}aranon {B}asin ; {P}eru ; {PEROU} ; {AMAZONIE} ; {MARANON} {BASSIN}}, booktitle = {}, journal = {{P}alynology}, volume = {[{E}arly access]}, numero = {}, pages = {[21 p.]}, ISSN = {0191-6122}, year = {2019}, DOI = {10.1080/01916122.2019.1674395}, URL = {https://www.documentation.ird.fr/hor/fdi:010077398}, }
