@article{fdi:010077358, title = {{V}egetation and climate changes in the forest of {C}ampinas, {S}ao {P}aulo {S}tate, {B}razil, during the last 25,000 cal yr {BP}}, author = {{A}viles, {A}. {M}. {C}. and {R}icardi-{B}ranco, {F}. and {L}edru, {M}arie-{P}ierre and {B}ernacci, {L}. {C}.}, editor = {}, language = {{ENG}}, abstract = {{A} paleoenvironmental reconstruction was performed in a {R}iparian {F}orest near {C}ampinas to improve knowledge of paleoclimate and paleoenvironment in the {S}tate of {S}ao {P}aulo, {B}razil. {A} sediment core of 182 cm depth was collected in a swamp located within a {C}errado/{S}easonal {S}emi-deciduous ecotone forest. {T}he chronological frame is given by eight radiocarbon dating methods. {P}ollen and stable isotope analyses (delta {C}-13 and delta {N}-15) were performed all along the core. {M}odern pollen rain is based on five surface samples collected along the {R}iparian {F}orest. {R}esults show a sequence of changes in vegetation and climate between 25 and 13 cal kyr before present ({BP}), and from 4 cal kyr {BP} to the present time, with a hiatus between 11 and 4 kyr cal {BP}. {D}rier climatic conditions characterized the late {P}leistocene and early {H}olocene, although they had moisture peaks able to maintain an open forest. {T}he {R}iparian {F}orest became fully installed from 4 cal kyr {BP} onward. {O}ur results are in agreement with other regional studies and contribute to build a regional frame for past climatic conditions at the latitude of {S}ao {P}aulo.}, keywords = {{Q}uaternary ; palynology ; riparian forest ; late glacial ; {H}olocene ; {BRESIL} ; {SAO} {PAULO} {ETAT} ; {CAMPINAS}}, booktitle = {}, journal = {{B}razilian {J}ournal of {G}eology}, volume = {49}, numero = {3}, pages = {e20190040 [11 p.]}, ISSN = {2317-4889}, year = {2019}, DOI = {10.1590/2317-4889201920190040}, URL = {https://www.documentation.ird.fr/hor/fdi:010077358}, }
