  abstract = {{T}his article reviews the state of coral reefs in {F}rench {P}acific territories in the context of global change (especially threats linked to climate change). {W}e first outline the specific local characteristics, vulnerabilities, and threats faced by the coral reefs of {N}ew {C}aledonia, {F}rench {P}olynesia and {W}allis and {F}utuna. {W}e also emphasize local and other human communities' economic and cultural reliance on coral reefs. {S}econdly, we discuss the natural and anthropogenic threats facing coral reefs in {F}rench {P}acific territories, and current ecological responses such as mitigation and adaptation strategies. {W}e conclude by proposing socio-economic solutions for the {P}acific region across varying scales, with a special focus on enforcement measures and socio-political issues.},
