  abstract = {{I}n this paper, we provide some available information about the occurrence and some taxonomic aspects of 19 species from the {S}uperfamily {O}plophoroidea in the southwestern {A}tlantic ({B}razilian waters), with the update to 22 species of {O}plophoroidea occurring in {B}razilian waters. {S}amples were collected during two sets of surveys. {T}he first was performed in 2009 and 2011 in the {P}otiguar {B}asin in northeast of {B}razil (03-05 degrees {S}; 38-35 degrees {W}; between the {S}tates of {C}eara and {R}io {G}rande do {N}orte) under the framework of the project "{A}valiacao da biota bentanica e planctonica da {B}acia {P}otiguar e {C}eara ({B}pot)", with samples collected from bottom trawls in the continental slope at depth ranging from 150-2068 m. {S}econd, under the in the framework of the {ABRACOS} ({A}coustic along the {B}razilian coast), performed in 2015 and 2017 on seamounts and offshore areas in {N}ortheast {B}razil ({C}eara {C}hain, {R}io {G}rande do {N}orte and {R}ocas {A}toll, {F}ernando de {N}oronha {A}rchipelago and {P}ernambuco {S}tate), with samples with pelagic micronekton and mesopelagic nets, in depths ranging from 50-1260 m. {W}e highlight the occurrence of 14 species of the family {A}canthephyridac and 5 species of the family {O}plophoridae, including the fist occurrences of five species to {B}razilian deep waters: {A}canthephyra kingsleyi {S}pence {B}ate, 1888, {E}phyrina ombango {C}rosnier & {F}orest, 1973, {M}eningodora compsa ({C}hace, 1940), {M}. longisulca {K}ikuchi, 1985 and {S}ystellapsis curvispina {C}rosnier, 1987. {T}hese records increase the knowledge on deep-sea shrimps occurring in {S}outhwestern {A}tlantic.},
