  abstract = {{D}uring various studies of freshwater quality, twenty-four species of {S}micridea were collected in {B}olivia. {T}his brings to thirty-one the number of {S}micridea species present in this country. {F}our belong to the subgenus {S}micridea {M}clachlan {J} {L}innean {S}oc {L}ondon {Z}ool 11: 98-141, 1871, which is recorded for the first time for the country. {A}dditionally, 16 species in the subgenus {R}hyacophylax {M}uller {Z}ool {A}nzeiger 2: 38-40, 1879, are also registered for the first time. {T}hree species are new and described from males: {S}micridea ({R}hyacophylax) molinai sp. nov., {S}micridea ({R}hyacophylax) ruedamartinae sp. nov., and {S}micridea ({S}micridea) moyai sp. nov.},
