  abstract = {{T}he crustacean family of isopods, {D}ajidae, comprises 18 genera containing 54 species with widespread distribution. {T}he species of this family are ectoparasites, especially on euphausiids, mysids and shrimps. {T}he species of {H}olophryxus acanthephyrae has a life cycle involving a first intermediate host (copepod) and a definitive host (shrimp), and adheres particularly on deep-sea shrimps of genus {A}canthephyra. {H}ere, we make the first report of dajid isopod {H}olophryxus acanthephyrae from {B}razilian waters ({S}outh {A}tlantic) and the first occurrence as parasite on deep-sea shrimp {A}canthephyra acanthitelsonis. {T}he specimen was collected under the framework of the project {ABRACOS} 2 ({A}coustic along the {BR}azilian {CO}ast), on board of {R}/{V} {A}ntea in {A}pril 2017, using a {M}icronekton net (mesh size of 10mm) in {R}ocas {A}toll. {T}he specimen female of {H}olophryxus acanthephyrae was found in pelagic zone in {R}ocas {A}toll, at 630m depth. {T}his study increases the knowledge on {D}ajidae family and their host range.},
