  abstract = {{T}he taxonomy of {Q}uintinia ({P}aracryphiaceae) in {N}ew {C}aledonia and {V}anuatu is reviewed. {A}ll names validly published in {Q}uintinia in the two archipelagos are discussed and lectotypified where necessary. {T}wo new species are described: {Q}. hyehenensis and {Q}. sessiliflora. {S}ix species are thus recognized in {N}ew {C}aledonia: {Q}. hyehenensis, {Q}. major, {Q}. minor, {Q}. oreophila, {Q}. sessiliflora, and {Q}. media; the latter also extends to {V}anuatu. {S}exual systems are discussed and it seems that contrary to previous reports, {Q}uintinia is almost entirely dioecious on these islands. {T}he moderately high manganese concentration in the leaves of {Q}. sessiliflora is discussed.},
