Although widespread amongst the region's societies, the phenomenon is little researched. Yet, this practice is of primary importance in local rituals and social organisations and reveals local representations of nature. This article is based on a comparative study carried out among two societies separated by several hundred kilometres. The study documents variants and constants of this cultural practice. %$ 106
