  abstract = {{I}nvestigation of earthworms collected in {M}adagascar resulted in the discovery of two new species belonging to the endemic family {K}ynotidae: {K}ynotus sihanakus and {K}ynotus sakafotsy spp. nov. {I}n addition to the description of both new species, {K}ynotus voeltzkowi {M}ichaelsen, 1897 and {K}ynotus schistocephalus {M}ichaelsen, 1897 were recorded for the first time after the original description. {DNA} barcoding, provided here for the first time for species of {K}ynotidae, proved to be highly efficient in recognizing {K}ynotus species showing 100% bootstrap support for all the putative species analyzed. {A}n identification key to the {K}ynotus species is provided to facilitate further researches on earthworms of this biodiversity hotspot},
