  abstract = {{A}s malaria cases in {A}frica decline, other causes of acute febrile illness are being explored. {T}o determine incidence of {B}orrelia crocidurae infection during {J}une 2010 {O}ctober 2011, we collected 1,566 blood specimens from febrile patients in {S}enegal. {I}ncidence was high (7.3%). {N}ew treatment strategies, possibly doxycycline, might be indicated for febrile patients.},
