After briefly reviewing the different places where one can eat out in La Paz, the particularities of the Bolivian McDonald's are outlined. These data allow us to witness the birth of a food anti-model, the shawarma, which reached its pinnacle during the so-called _Third World War', the period following September 11, 2001.
