  abstract = {{T}he {ANTARES} {N}eutrino {T}elescope was completed in {M}ay 2008 and is the first operational {N}eutrino {T}elescope in the {M}editerranean {S}ea. {T}he main purpose of the detector is to perform neutrino astronomy and the apparatus also offers facilities for marine and {E}arth sciences. {T}his paper describes the design, the construction and the installation of the telescope in the deep sea, offshore from {T}oulon in {F}rance. {A}n illustration of the detector performance is given.},
