  abstract = {{T}he genus {B}ikkia {R}einw. as currently circumscribed comprises 20 species distributed throughout the western {P}acific {O}cean, with a center of diversity in {N}ew {C}aledonia (11 species, all but one endemic). {T}wo recent phylogenetic studies based respectively on molecular and morphological data have shown that {B}ikkia s.l. is polyphyletic, comprising two lineages: coastal {B}ikkia from the western {P}acific (including the type species of the genus, {B}. tetrandra ({L}.f.) {A}.{R}ich.) and endemic {N}ew {C}aledonian {B}ikkia, a situation that necessitates the resurrection of the generic name {T}hiollierea {M}ontrouz., the oldest available for the second of these groups. {A}n emended description is provided for {T}hiollierea as well as a summary of the features that distinguish it from {B}ikkia s.s., and seven new combinations are proposed ({T} kaalaensis ({N}.{H}alle & {J}eremie) {B}arrabe & {M}ouly, {T} lenormandii ({N}.{H}alle & {J}eremie) {B}arrabe & {M}ouly, {T} neriifolia ({B}rongn.) {B}arrabe & {M}ouly, {T} pachyphylla ({G}uillaumin) {B}arrabe & {M}ouly, {T} parviflora ({S}chltr. & {K}.{K}rause) {B}arrabe & {M}ouly, {T} retusiflora ({B}rongn.) {B}arrabe & {M}ouly and {T} tubiflora ({B}rongn.) {B}arrabe & {M}ouly).},
