  abstract = {{A}ugusta has traditionally been placed in the tribe {R}ondeletieae, subfamily {C}inchonoideae: {H}owever, recent molecular phylogenies positioned it near to {W}endlandia ({I}xoroideae), but locate {A}. longifolia near to the clade {I}xoroidinae {II}. {T}he study of {A}. longifolia afforded two coumarins, five flavonoids, three triterpenoids and one benzoic acid derivative. {T}hese metabolites reinforce the separation of {A}ugusta as a monospecific genus, and {L}indenia as a genus of three species, closely related to {W}endlandia.},
