  abstract = {{R}ecent examinations of newly obtained materials of dracunculoid nematodes ({D}racunculoidea) parasitizing marine fishes off {N}ew {C}aledonia, {S}outh {P}acific, revealed the presence of several nematodes of the genera {P}hilometra {C}osta, 1845 ({P}hilometridae) and {I}chthyofilaria {Y}amaguti, 1935 ({G}uyanemidae), including the following four new species: {P}hilometra priacanthi sp. n. (males) from the gonads of {P}riacanthus hamrur ({F}orsskal) ({P}riacanthidae), {P}hilometra tenuicauda sp. n. (male and mature and gravid females) from the gonads of {L}agocephalus sceleratus ({G}melin) ({T}etraodontidae), {P}hilometra dentigubernaculata sp. n. (males) from the oculo-orbit of {T}ylosurus crocodilus ({P}eron et {L}esueur) ({B}elonidae), and {I}chthyofilaria novaecaledoniensis sp. n. (subgravid female) from the musculature of {H}oplichthys citrinus {G}ilbert ({H}oplichthyidae). {T}he new species are characterized mainly by the length and structure of spicules and the gubernaculum, body size, location in the host and by the type of hosts. {I}n addition, the findings of {P}hilometra lethrini {M}oravec et {J}ustine, 2008 from the gonads of {L}ethrinus miniatus ({F}orster) and {L}. variegatus {V}alenciennes (both {L}ethrinidae) represent new host records for this parasite; for the first time, its subgravid females were found to be up to 350 mm long. {T}he occurrence of {P}hilometra ocularis {M}oravec, {O}gawa, {S}uzuki, {M}iyazaki et {D}onai, 2002 in the oculo-orbit of {E}pinephelus areolatus ({F}orsskal) ({S}erranidae) off {N}ew {C}aledonia was confirmed..},
