  abstract = {{C}offea anthonyi {S}toff. & {F}. {A}nthony from {C}ameroon and the {R}epublic of {C}ongo is formally described. {M}orphological, biochemical and molecular characteristics, isozyme diversity and phylogenetic relationships are discussed. {T}he new diploid species has strong relationships with the {E}ast {A}frican {C}. eugenioides and the allotetraploid cultivated {C}. arabica. {A}s such, it could be related to a progenitor species of {C}. arabica. {T}his new species is self-compatible, being a rare character within the genus {C}offea. {T}his new small-leaved {C}entral {A}frican species is of particular interest from a phylogenetic as well as from a breeding point of view.},
