@article{fdi:010044246, title = {{D}escription of two new species of nippostrongylinae (nematoda : heligmonellidae) coparasites in three sympatric species of mastomys spp. (rodentia : muridae) from {S}enegal}, author = {{D}urette {D}esset, {M}. {C}. and {B}rouat, {C}arine and {D}iouf, {M}. and {D}uplantier, {J}ean-{M}arc}, editor = {}, language = {{ENG}}, abstract = {{T}wo new species of heligmosomoid {T}richostrongylina nematodes belonging to the genera {N}eoheligmonella {D}urette-{D}esset, 1970 and {H}eligmonina {B}aylis, 1928 are described. {T}hey are parasitic in the small intestine of three species of {M}astomys from {S}enegal living in sympatry: {M}. natalensis ({S}mith, 1834), {M}. erythroleucus ({T}emminck, 1853) and {M}. huberti ({W}roughton, 1909). {N}eoheligmonella granjoni n. sp. is closely related to three species from {S}enegal. {T}hey concern: {N}. bai {D}iouf & {D}urette-{D}esset, 2002 and {N}. dielmensis {D}iouf, {B}a & {D}urette-{D}esset, 1998, both parasitic in {A}rvicanthis niloticus {G}eoffroy, 1903 and {N}. mastomysi {D}iouf et al., 1998, a parasite of {M}. erythroleucus. {N}. granjoni n. sp. differs from these species by having 15 cuticular ridges at mid-body versus 13, a large carene and spicules taking up 10-15 % of body length versus 5.3-7.1 %. {H}eligmonina kanei n. sp, differs from the most related species {H}. kotoensis {D}iouf, {D}aoudo & {D}urette-{D}esset 2005, a parasite of {M}. natalensis from {B}enin in the following features: spicules taking up 11.6 % of body length on average versus 16.8 %; a female fail three times longer than the distance anus-vulva versus a tail of equivalent size to this distance. {I}n {N}. granjoni n. sp., where the material is abundant in all three hosts, the infro-specific variations observed (morphological or morphometrical) were not related to the host species. {T}his is the first report of the genera {N}eoheligmonella and {H}eligmonina in {M}. huberti. {T}he relevance of the phenomenon of host capture concerning the evolution of these two genera is confirmed.}, keywords = {{N}ematoda ; {T}richostrongylina ; {H}eligmosomoidea ; {H}eligmonellidae ; {N}eoheligmonella granjoni n. sp. ; {H}eligmonina kanei n. sp. ; {R}odentia ; {M}uridae ; {S}enegal}, booktitle = {}, journal = {{P}arasite - {J}ournal de la {S}oci{\'e}t{\'e} {F}rancaise de {P}arasitologie}, volume = {15}, numero = {4}, pages = {539--551}, ISSN = {1252-607{X}}, year = {2008}, DOI = {10.1051/parasite/2008154539}, URL = {https://www.documentation.ird.fr/hor/fdi:010044246}, }
