  abstract = {{D}iplectanum parvus sp. nov. is described from the coral reef fish {C}ephalopholis urodeta collected off {N}ew {C}aledonia, {S}outh {P}acific, and is the first diplectanid described from this fish. {T}he new species has a very small male copulatory organ (24 mu m in length) and a minute body (246 mu m in length) and is close to {D}. nanus {J}ustine, 2007 from which it can be distinguished by the shape of dorsal bars and various measurements. {T}hese species belong to a group of diplectanids found in groupers ({S}erranidae, {E}pinephelinae), characterised by small funnel-shaped male copulatory organs and no sclerotized female organs. {T}he attribution of these parasites to {D}iplectanum {D}iesing is provisional. {O}ther parasites are briefly listed.},
