  abstract = {{A} seroprevalence survey of {T}rypanosoma cruzi was carried out in two areas of {S}outh {B}olivia. {T}riatoma infestans, the main vector of {T}ryp. cruzi, was abundant in the first area, but absent in the second one. {T}itration of {T}ryp. cruzi antibodies was carried out in children aged 6-24 months and their mothers. {T}he seroprevalence of {C}hagas' disease was significantly higher' infection in children in the area with the vector, but also high in the second area. {C}hagas under 2 years old could be [inked to congenital transmission of parasites during pregnancy and/or delivery, despite active vector control in both areas.},
