  abstract = {{S}ixteen labrid species, including four {B}odianits spp., were examined in {N}ew {C}aledonia ({S}outh {P}acific) and monogeneans were found only on {B}odianus perditio ({Q}uoy et {G}aimard). {T}his species, {H}aliotrenza banana sp. n., is the second {H}aliotrema species to be described from the labrids, the first being {H}atiolrema bodiani {Y}amaguti, 1968 from {B}odianus albottieniatus ({V}alenciennes), previously designated as {B}. bilunulatus ({L}acepede). {T}he new species is similar to {IT} bodiani in soft reproductive parts but differs from it in the morphologies of the hard haptoral parts, mainly in the shape of the dorsal bar (bar-shaped vs {V}-shaped in {H}. bodiani) and ventral bar. {I}t is similar to {H}atiotrema spit-cite {Y}amaguti, 1968 and {H}atiotrema minutospirale {Y}amaguti, 1968 in the shape of the anchors and bars but differs from them in the detailed structures of the copulatory organ and vaginal system.},
