@article{fdi:010018020, title = {{C}haracterization of {R}hodnius neglectus from two regions of {B}razil using isoenzymes, genitalia morphology and morphometry}, author = {{S}oares, {R}.{P}. {P}into and {B}arbosa, {S}.{E}. and {D}ujardin, {J}ean-{P}ierre and {S}chofield, {C}.{J}. and {S}iqueira, {A}. {M}oura and {D}iotaiuti, {L}.}, editor = {}, language = {{ENG}}, abstract = {{A}mong the triatomines considered as secondary in the epidemiology of {C}hagas disease, #{R}hodnius neglectus$ is frequently captured in artificial ecotopes, especially peridomiciliary ones, rarely producing colonies indoors. {N}evertheless, the presence of breeding colonies in houses was unquestionably demonstrated in some areas of the {S}tate of {G}oias, {B}razil. {P}revious isoenzyme comparisons of this species with morphologically close triatomines, such as #{R}. prolixus$, #{R}. robustus$ or #{R}. neglectus$. {W}e present here, for the first time, the isoenzyme profile of topotypes of #{R}. neglectus$. {I}n addition, wild caught specimens from the type locality, {U}beraba ({M}inas {G}erais, {B}razil), were compared to wild caught specimens from {J}aragua ({G}oias, {B}razil), where #{R}. neglectus$ is more frequently reported invading houses. {W}e used isoenzyme, morphology and morphometry analysis. {N}either morphological nor enzymatic differences were found between areas, but metric, size-related divergence was evidenced between them.
