  abstract = {{M}olecular phylogenies inferred from rbc{L} sequences including 39 representative members of the {L}aurencia complex confirm the four genera currently recognised within the complex: {L}aurencia sensu stricto, {O}smundea, {C}hondrophycus and the recently described genus {P}alisada. {F}urthermore, {P}alisada poiteaui was resolved as a fifth independent lineage suggesting that the complex is actually composed of five rather than four genera. {P}alisada poiteaui is the type species of the subgenus {Y}uzurua, and elevation of this subgenus to generic rank is proposed. {T}his new genus allied strongly with {L}aurencia s.s. {H}owever, the other intergeneric relationships were not well supported, suggesting that rbc{L} sequences may not have sufficient signal to clarify infrageneric relationships fully within the {L}aurencia complex.},
