  abstract = {{T}he inventory of coot ({F}ulica atra) ectoparasites during wintering season ({O}ctober 2004-{M}arch 2005) has been carried out from 17 individuals captured in lake {T}onga. {R}esults show that mites are the most abundant parasites (65.6 %), followed by lice ({P}seudomenopon pilosum, {R}allicola fulicae, {F}ullicofula lurida, {I}ncidifrons fulicae, {L}aemobothrion atrum) 34.4 % and leeches ({T}heromyzone sp) with 0.05 %. {A}ll individuals were infested with lice, 82.4 % with mites and 41.2 % with leeches.},
