A balance of accounts covers the cost and income on a fishing trip basis. Ideally, an average of 100 trips per annum should be achieved to offset the investment. On Efate, fuel consumption costs during the fishing trip account for 56% of the overall costs of the trip. The fluctuation in income follows the fluctuating levels of production depending on the amount of time spent trolling around the rafts.
