%X The economically important African catfish genus #Heterobranchus$ has been revised using biometrical and osteological features. From the 11 nominal species assigned to this genus, four are recognized as valid : #H. bidorsalis$, #H.longifilis$ and #H. boulengeri$. A key to the species together with species descriptions and data on the distribution of each species are given, as is a discussion of their phylogeny. (Résumé d'auteur)
