The scheme proposed is based on the analysis of "forms", as is used in labour and industrial economics studies. This allow the diversity of various types ofishing and aquaculture to be understood by means of a classification. It also enables temporal changes to be interpreted by introducing the concept of the production network. The classification is based on the signs and indicators used by operators to identify, capture or rear, and select the species; it describes the form of fishery or aquaculture. The production networks and theirspecific relationships with the natural environment, the work and the market are deduced from these forms. The way in which the network function and their limits provide information on temporal changes. (Résumé d'auteur)
