Coral reef artisanal fisheries are scattered and gathering reliable data without too much expense is usually quite difficult. This paper shows that fish traps - which are widely used in the Tuamotu archipelago - allow studies of the biology and production of the main commercial species. The use of lengh class models should be emphasized as they are easy to implement and give good results. (Résumé d'auteur)
