  abstract = {{H}and-line fishing includes three techniques "long-lines, ledgering" and "drad fishing" used by four types of boat making up the fleet : canoes, open boats, whaling boats and schooners. {T}he result of the following preliminary analyses : non parametric inter specific correlations, species diversity, factorial correspondence analysis, multiple regression, demonstrate the heterogeneity of the behaviour of the boats with respect to the available fish fauna. {T}his heterogeneity results from differences in the fishing radius between boats and the species selectivity of each technique. {T}he species composition of the catch in terms of volume is characteristic for each technique and boat type.
