  abstract = {351 specimens representing 45 species have been collected in the vicinity of {D}imonika ({M}ayombe, {P}eople' {R}epublic of {C}ongo). {I}t is the richest known fauna for a forest area in {A}frica. {O}f the 45 snakes listed, four species ({CYNODONTOPHIS} {NOTATUS} {AEMULANS}, {DIPSADOBOA} {ELONGATA} {ELONGATA}, {BOTHROPHTALMUS} {BRUNNEUS} and {ATRACTASPIS} {BOULENGERI}) seem to be new to the {P}eoples' {R}epublic of the {C}ongo. {T}hree species ({GEODIPSAS} {DEPRESSICEPS} {DEPRESSICEPS}, {GONIONOTOPHIS} {BRUSSAUXI} et {BOTHROLYCUS} {ATER}) are new to {M}ayombe and extend to the {S}outh their known ranges.
