  abstract = {{A} synopsis of {T}ridactyle {S}chltr. ({O}rchidaceae) in {S}ao {T}ome and {P}rincipe is presented. {W}e recognize nine species in {S}ao {T}ome and {P}rincipe, including four new species. {W}e describe here {T}. amadorii {D}'haijere, {T}. cocophila {D}'haijere, {T}. levelevis {D}'haijere & {S}tevart, and {T}. oboensis {D}'haijere & {S}tevart. {T}ridactyle armeniaca ({L}indl.) {S}chltr., recorded by previous studies, is native to {W}est {A}frica and is not found in {S}ao {T}ome and {P}rincipe. {T}ridactyle exhibits an important diversification in {S}ao {T}ome and {P}rincipe, with seven species being endemic (endemism rate > 75%). {H}ere, new records are registered; the natural distribution ranges, habitat, ecology, and conservation status based on {IUCN} guidelines are detailed for all species; two names are lectotypified; and an identification key is provided.},
